ENGAGE is a MEDIA-funded training initiative for writers, directors and producers built upon one simple idea; to foster creative collaboration across borders. Running over nine months, it offers a three-stage programme of workshops delivered by qualified staff and active industry professionals in Ireland, Estonia, Finland and Scotland.
The programme aims to offer a distinctive holistic approach to addressing the needs of film schools in smaller European countries, enhancing their capacity to stimulate, guide and supervise students in international exchanges and collaborations.
Part of this approach is a keen focus on the development and commercialisation of skills necessary for the success of the creative producer/writer/director partnership.
At the same time, ENGAGE puts an emphasis on three areas important to the creative screen industries in Europe – screenwriting for low budget, international film and TV drama; development and co-production for the European market; and production and distribution in the digital age.
